Angela, Mel and the team at The Horse Herbalist would like to wish you a Very Merry Christmas and thank you for your support in 2010. We are mindful that you trust us with your horses' health and hope that you feel we take the responsibility seriously. We know that 2010 has been a tough year for many and so we wish you success, prosperity, health and happiness in the coming year, and look forward to working with you in 2011. Here's a little lighthearted seasonal poetry we created while we were blending the last batch of Willy Wash for the year . . . with compliments from us to you.
A Seasonal Romp from The Horse Herbalist
The clinic's in an uproar,
We've had an S.O.S.
From Santa Claus so far away,
He's in a dreadful mess.
All reindeers booked to pull his sleigh
Are stricken with the 'flu,
They won't be fit for Christmas Eve,
So what's a guy to do?
"Jump to it Mel", says Angela,
"We have to find a way
To keep all children happy
With their toys on Christmas Day.
First send a batch of "Bug Buster"
To treat all Santa's deer,
And tell him not to worry,
We'll help him, never fear".
The girls bounced ideas back and forth
Examining all sources,
When Mel said, "Angela, it's clear
We'll substitute our horses".
The task before them was so great,
They'd have to ask permission
From clients happy with their work
Before the big decision.
Ginga Dude and Melba Rose
Both popped up on the screen,
The biggest mix of equine flesh
The world has ever seen.
A'Seduction, dressage champ,
And Kohl, great barrel racer,
Oh, here's Rebelle who'se done so well,
Our magic healthy pacer.
Show-jumper, Mary, up in front
To help them reach the sky,
And Reb, so full of confidence,
He knows that he can fly.
Pretty little Melba Rose
Is glowing with sheer pride,
With A'Seduction, dressage champ,
Her partner for the ride.
Lastly, Kohl and Ginga Dude
Are galvanised in action,
Speeding round the chimneys and
Just clearing by a fraction.
The trial run a huge success,
And now 'tis Christmas Eve,
Santa's loaded up the sleigh
"Ho Ho", he shouts, "let's leave".
The moon is shining brightly,
Caught in it's golden beams
Are horses, playing reindeers,
Keeping faith with children's dreams.
So, if you're staggering from the pub
A little worse for wear,
You'll never speak to anyone
About your dreadful scare
When, hanging round a lamp-post
You looked up in the sky
And there was Santa with a team
Of gee-gees flying by!
